United Trust Bank hires Lomax as bridging BDM
United Trust Bank (UTB) has appointed Gary Lomax (pictured) as business development manager (BDM) in its bridging finance division.

Lomax will report to bridging head of sales at Paula Purdy.

He joins from Together where he was a regional account manager for the North for nearly three years.

Prior to that, he was a BDM for Selina Finance for just under a year and before that was a national account manager at Smart Money for almost three years.

Lomax was previously a BDM at Shawbrook Bank for over four years and, before that, he was a BDM as Commercial First for nearly seven years.

UTB said that he has “extensive knowledge” of bridging, residential and commercial real estate and buy-to-let, was “well respected” by brokers and had “deep industry knowledge and professionalism”.

The lender has been growing its bridging division, and recently restructured its underwriting operations into separate teams for regulated and unregulated applications.

The firm has also appointed Adetayo Odukoya to the newly created role of head of servicing.

Purdy said: “Gary is a highly respected figure in the specialist property finance market, and I am delighted to have him on the team.

“His knowledge of a wide range of property finance options will be a great asset as we continue to develop our unregulated bridging business and strengthen relationships with brokers in the North of England.”

Lomax added: “UTB Bridging has an excellent reputation and I am delighted to have joined the team. The bank has exciting plans for 2024 and I am looking forward to working with Paula Purdy, Sundeep Patel and all the UTB Bridging team as we continue developing great relationships with our valued broker partners and delivering growth across regulated and unregulated lending.”
