HTB promotes Swaby to development finance BDM for North
Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has appointed Josh Swaby (pictured) as business development manager (BDM) for the North of England within the development finance team.

In his role within the development finance team, Swaby will build broker relationships, raise awareness with developers and support the lender’s existing brokers in the North.

He will report to Scott Apps, head of distribution, development finance at HTB.

He has worked at HTB for around two years, initially joining as a relationship manager in 2022.

Prior to that, he was assistant relationship manager for Natwest for nearly four years, and before that was a cashier at RNS for around a year.

Apps said: “Ever since he joined HTB, Josh has shown his enthusiasm for ‘tough’ development finance cases as well as the knowledge and capability to find solutions.

“He is all about turning those tricky applications into solid completions and, more importantly, providing certainty to brokers and their clients. We truly believe that Josh will provide the support and technical know-how to help our clients and intermediary partners in the North thrive with HTB.”

He continued: “We continue to have a real appetite for development projects nationwide, and Josh will ensure that brokers and clients in the north continue to receive the top-notch service they deserve in the development finance space.”

Swaby added: “As a ‘born-and-bred’ Yorkshireman, I’m proud to be given this opportunity to expand the bank’s presence in the North.

“It goes without saying that I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best in the industry. I’m looking forward to supporting our fantastic development finance team, regional housebuilders and brokers in the North and demonstrating our commitment to the fantastic towns, cities and beyond that make this area so special.”

HTB has been growing its development finance team, promoting Rob Syrett to head of origination within the team and hired Lucas Cutts as relationship manager for London and South East, along with Jessica Winstone-Adair as development finance lending director for London and the South East.

It also added two relationship managers, Pippa Betts and Elysia Walters, to the team.
