Specialist short-term lender Hope Capital has secured an “enhanced funding facility” with Shawbrook.

The lender initially agreed a £25m committed facility from Shawbrook in 2023, and went on to agree another multimillion-pound facility at the end of last year.

The latest agreement has “doubled this support”, which boosts Hope Capital’s capacity to support brokers and borrowers. The specific amount was not disclosed.

Hope Capital said it had experienced “significant growth in enquiries and completions” this year, and this would be “further strengthened” by Shawbrook’s backing.

The firm said Shawbrook would play a “key role”, as it planned to bring out a “range of new product offerings in the future”.

The funding also complements Hope Capital’s existing facilities with Triple Point and a growing number of high-net-worth (HNW) investors.

Kate Cowan, CFO at Hope Capital, commented: “We’re extremely proud to have maintained a strong partnership with the team at Shawbrook Bank for nearly two years now and are grateful for their continued support. Securing a new funding facility once again last month is a significant and exciting milestone, expanding the scope of what we can achieve as a lender in the short-term market.

“Our diversified funding structure remains a critical component in delivering certainty to our growing network of brokers and borrowers, while maintaining the high service standards we are known for.”

Warren Mutch, head of speciality finance at Shawbrook, added: “Since initially delivering a funding line for Hope Capital back in 2023, we have seen the business grow substantially and maintained our support with a facility top-up late last year. Kate and the team at Hope are now looking to move to their next stage of growth with new products and we are delighted to continue supporting them on their journey.”
