In her role, she will support the launch and development of Stance Asset Finance and help drive new business growth, along with establishing long-term partnerships.
Baffana (pictured) joins from Metro Bank, where she worked for around eight years, initially joining as a cashier, then working her way up to customer service representative before taking on the role of business development support.
The appointment comes ahead of its launch to its Founders Club members in February and follows the hire of Alex Fowler as broker development manager in December.
Stance Asset Finance will be backed by UTB’s operational functions and technology and will have its own dedicated sales business development manager and underwriting teams.
The proposition will appeal to brokers with customers in a “broad range of circumstances [that] lie just outside of UTB’s credit criteria” and deliver a range of solutions across a range of assets across various industries and sectors.

Nathan Mollett, head of Stance Asset Finance, said: “Cherrice has joined us at a very exciting time as we make the final preparations for launching Stance Asset Finance to our Founders Club members ahead of a full roll-out in Q2. Cherrice brings excellent experience and great broker relationships, both of which will help us to quickly establish Stance’s position in the marketplace, working with Alex Fowler and the other new hires we have in progress.
“We’ve had a fantastic response to Stance’s impending arrival and we continue to recruit skilled sales and underwriting professionals who will help Stance to shake up the asset finance market.”
Baffana added: “There’s a real buzz about Stance Asset Finance and I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure a successful Founders Club launch and making sure we’re off to a fantastic start when we open our doors to the rest of the market.”
