West One launches second charge in Scotland
West One Secured Loans has opened its second charge residential range for borrowers whose main residence is in mainland Scotland.

The range will be distributed through Perth-based brokerage The Lending Channel.

The lender is making its whole range of residential second charges available, including the prime and near-prime plans.

Products include five-year fixed rates starting from 4.65%, with loan-to-value up to 85% and loan sizes of up to £500,000.

West One sales director Marie Grundy (pictured) said: “We’re delighted to bring West One Secured products to the Scottish market, to increase the choice available to consumers who would benefit from second charge mortgages.”

She added that she was pleased to be working with The Lending Channel as distributor.

“Murray and Alistair Ewing lead a highly experienced and professional team and we are delighted that they will now be able to extend second charge options for their intermediaries and clients by adding us to their lending panel,” she said.

Alistair Ewing, managing director of The Lending Channel, added: “Many parts of Scotland are becoming UK property hotspots, and recent reports show we’re experiencing the highest year-on-year house price growth here since April 2008, creating second charge borrowing opportunities for residential property owners.”
