Trussler joins from Dynamo and will take on the role of protection expert, previously led by Habito CEO Ying Tan, where she worked for nearly seven years, initially as a general insurance consultant before working her way up to protection manager.
Habito said Trussler’s arrival “marks a real signal of intent” and is one of several additions planned for the firm.
The broker said the protection business was “primed for rapid growth”, pointing to its mortgage customer base, significant investment, talent and tools.
The firm established its in-house protection department in July last year as part of “ongoing efforts for growth and expansion”.
The protection team currently has seven in the team, including one protection advice manager, five protection experts including Trussler and one protection customer success expert.

Habito has also appointed Karen Vandepeear to its compliance team, who joins from a compliance manager role at Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB).
She has also worked as a compliance supervisor at First Mortgage for around six years, and prior to that, she worked at Lloyds Banking Group.
Ying Tan, CEO of Habito, said: “We’re still in the embryonic stage of building our protection team, but the ambition is clear: to create a team of the very best protection advisers in the industry and Britney is exactly that.
“She’s smart, driven, and genuinely cares about helping customers feel confident and covered. I couldn’t be happier to have her on board as we scale. And we’re actively looking to bring in more brilliant protection and mortgage advisers to join this next phase of growth.”
Trussler said: “Joining Habito at such a pivotal stage is an incredible opportunity. I’m passionate about helping people make informed, confident choices when it comes to protecting what matters most. With Habito’s technology, values, and ambition, we’ve got everything we need to build something extraordinary – and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
Habito recently launched an accelerator programme for broker firms, bringing on When The Bank Say No and Yes Can Do Money as the first firms.
The company has also partnered with Norton Home Loans to widen access to first charge mortgages and Mastercard to support SME owners.
