Kensington Mortgages has appointed Helen Cawthra (pictured) as its head of national accounts.

Cawthra was most recently a senior corporate account manager at Leeds Building Society for just under a year. Prior to that, she spent nearly four years at Vida Homeloans, most recently as head of intermediary relationships.

Prior to that, she was a self-employed company director at EJM Financial Services for around two years. Before that, she was a corporate account manager at Accord Mortgages for around a year.

Cawthra was also a business development manager (BDM) at Lloyds Banking Group for around a decade.

Jane Atkins, head of intermediary sales at Kensington Mortgages, said: “Helen joins us at a fantastic time at Kensington as the business continues to grow whilst maintaining market leading levels of service.

“She will be responsible for driving our national accounts agenda, including developing a strategy designed to grow and maintain relationships with some of our valued key partners. Her skill set will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen Kensington’s brand as the home of the specialist mortgage, while adding value to our partners’ businesses.”

Cawthra added: “I’m delighted to have joined Kensington Mortgages at such an exciting time for the business. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the UK’s largest specialist mortgage lenders and with a team [that] shares my values around delivering exceptional service and meaningful propositions while providing excellent support to brokers. I’m looking forward to working closely with our internal teams and strategic partners to drive continued growth and success.”

Earlier this year, Kensington Mortgages restructured its field BDM team with three promotions.

Phillip Pinson and Stephen Chitty took on the roles of regional sales managers for the North and South respectively, while retaining their existing BDM positions within the lender.

Sharon Cochrane was also promoted to regional sales manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
