Hegarty was previously the managing director of M&G Wealth Advice, where he was involved in the creation and development of The Advice Partnership. He also established the M&G Wealth Advice Academy in 2021.
He was also previously managing director of a Fintel not-for-profit subsidiary, the New Model Business Academy, which was previously the Simplybiz Group. While there, he set up one of the first apprenticeship programmes in financial advice.
He currently chairs the New Talent Alliance, which aims to attract and develop talent in financial advice, and Hegarty is also the chair of the Trailblazer Group, which provides apprenticeships within the financial advice sector.
