Vic Jannels to succeed Benson Hersch as chief executive at ASTL
The Association of Short-Term Lenders has appointed Vic Jannels as chief executive succeeding Benson Hersch from January 2020.

Jannels has almost 50 years’ experience in secured lending, having held senior roles within lenders, packagers and broker firms.

He is currently executive chairman at Impact Specialist Finance, where he leads the bridging and commercial specialist team, and a director at One Mortgage System.

Jannels has also served on the board of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.

“The bridging industry is at a critical point in its history and the market has delivered significant growth in recent years. But, increased competition and economic uncertainty mean that it’s more important than ever for lenders to maintain high standards of governance,” Jannels said.

“Thanks to Benson’s magnificent efforts over the past seven years, ASTL now has the opportunity to unite the market and lead the way into a successful, sustainable future.”

Outgoing chief executive Hersch said: “I’m pleased to hand over the reigns to such a well-respected individual. I’ve every confidence that Vic will give fresh impetus to our image and membership.”
