YBS Commercial restructures sales team as part of ‘ambitious growth strategy’
YBS Commercial has changed its sales team to a “three-tiered sales team structure” as part of plans to “improve business efficiency and customer service” for brokers and clients.

The lender said that the structure will involve associate directors managing “simpler, smaller cases to completion”, relationship directors to take care of more complex cases, and senior relationship directors to look after the “most intricate cases” from customers with the largest portfolios.

YBS Commercial said that recruitment for senior roles was complete with Matt Buck and Andrew Edwards both being promoted to senior relationship directors for the South East team.

Edwards has temporarily taken on the role of regional lead for the South East. He has worked at the mutual since 2014, initially joining as relationship director.

Buck has worked at the firm for around eight years and before that worked at Natwest for nearly 27 years.

Sue Lewis will take on the role of senior relationship director for the South West team and Sarah Prescott has been moved to the role of senior relationship director for the North.

Lewis was previously at Santander for around seven years and has held roles at Clydesdale Bank and Barclays.

Prescott worked at Yorkshire Building Society for around three years, and before that held roles at Santander, Alliance and Leicester and Lloyds Bank.

Luke Douse joins the Midlands team as senior relationship director. He previously worked as a business development manager (BDM) for around two years, and before that worked at YBS Commercial for around seven years.

‘The importance of the human touch’

Tom Simpson, managing director for YBS Commercial Mortgages, said: “We understand the importance of the human touch in customer interactions in a digital age, and are committed to providing a dedicated personal service to our brokers and their clients wherever they are.

“That’s why we’ve reorganised our sales team to allow individuals to utilise their strengths and reassure brokers that their deal will go to the best person to manage it through to completion, in the smoothest and most efficient way possible.

He added: “This move demonstrates how we’re taking our ambitious growth plans for the business to the next level, actively promoting expertise and investing in our teams, and ensuring the right support, in the right place, for every single deal.”
