This week’s people moves – round-up
It's been a busy week for hires, promotions and appointments. Mortgage Solutions rounds up the main moves in the mortgage market for the week ending 2 September 2022

Despite the summer holiday lull, the week in People Moves has seen one chief executive officer (CEO) step down, one step up, the appointment of a new chief financial officer (CFO) and a move for a ‘Rising Star’.

Bank of Ireland

Bank of Ireland’s group chief executive Francesca McDonagh will leave the firm in September, having been in the role since 2017. Gavin Kelly, CEO retail Ireland, will take over as interim group chief executive from 3 September.

 

Beverly Building Society

Christopher White has been appointed chief financial officer at Beverley Building Society to replace Janet Bedford who was promoted to CEO in April. Bedford succeeds Karl Elliott who retired after five years in the role.

 

HL Partnership

Mortgage and protection network HL Partnership has appointed former Legal and General account director Ian Pratt as its protection development specialist.

 

Later Living Now

Sue Wilmot Rowe has been appointed as later living planner at equity release advice firm Later Living Now.

LDNfinance

London-based advisers LDNfinance has announced the appointment of John Symons as a mortgage adviser.

 

Shawbrook Bank

Shawbrook Bank has named British Specialist Lending Awards ‘Rising Star’ winner Craig Smith as a business development manager (BDM) for South and Central.

 

West One Loans

West One Loans has hired Lou Blair as senior underwriter and recruited Abby Hall to the newly-created role of training and development manager. The company has promoted Tara Lane and Amelia Dorey to senior underwriters, while Michael Halsey has been promoted to the new role of second charge business development manager for the South and South-West.

 

Yorkshire Building Society

YBS said that Barclays head of customer transformation Susan Allen would join as CEO. Allen will take over from interim CEO, Alasdair Lenman, who was appointed in July, early next year.
