Voting Criteria
The nominations procedure is a two tier process to ensure it is as robust and as transparent as possible.
The first stage is to invite nominations from the industry for the companies that you think are worthy of recognition for their achievements over the last 12 months.
A shortlist will be drawn up in each category, based on overall number of nominations and a weighting to the source of those nominations. Those businesses that make the shortlist in each category will be contacted and asked to submit a short testimonial based on the following criteria:
– Key achievements the firm has delivered in the last 12 months
– Business increase (measured in transaction volumes and profit) over the last 12 months (versus 2014)
– Any positive contributions to the Equity Release market beyond the business itself
An industry panel will gather to discuss the shortlist and use both their market knowledge and these testimonials to determine the winners. In order to place a nomination for the first stage of the process, please use the following guideline.
Provider Awards
If you advise in either the Lifetime or Home Reversions sectors, we would like you to vote for the providers that you think deserve recognition for their excellence. For the Best Provider Lifetime Mortgages and Best Provider Home Reversions categories please make your assessment in terms of the combination of both the products and service level provided. The chosen winner of the Adviser Support category could be either a Lifetime or Home Reversions provider.
If you would like to place a nomination for your own business you are able to do so in the appropriate category. If you are a business partner of an Equity Release provider, you are also able to submit a nomination. Please be aware that a weighting system will apply to the overall number of votes cast to ensure greater emphasis is placed on votes cast from outside your own business.
Financial Adviser Awards
We would like you to vote for the financial adviser firms (20+ employees and fewer than 20 employees) that stand out for their excellence. You should judge them on a combination of their business performance, the quality of their advice and their commitment to the best possible outcome for their customers.
We are looking for you to recognise firms rather than individuals unless, of course, the adviser is a sole trader. For someone to qualify for the sole trader category, they need to be a recognised Equity Release specialist and should be writing a minimum of one case a month. The awards for the different sizes of firms should be self-explanatory.
Nominations for the Overall Adviser category should assess the chosen firm in the context of their overall commitment and contribution to the Equity Release sector. Your choice should not only be based on business performance, quality of their advice and delivery of value to the distribution chain but in addition, how that firm has demonstrably contributed to the wider understanding and promotion of the Equity Release sector in both the intermediary market and consumer market and also in the wider policy making arena.
If you would like to place a nomination for your own business, or generate nominations from your business partners, you are able to do so in the appropriate category. Please be aware that a weighting system will apply to the overall number of votes cast to ensure emphasis is placed on the origin of the nominations received and the variety of that origin.

If you are either an Adviser or a Provider, we would like you to vote for the conveyancer firm, surveying firm and technology provider that you think deserve recognition for their excellence.
