More than half of mortgage brokers offer will-writing services to clients, according to the results of the Mortgage Solutions People’s Poll.
Wills have been in the news after the government rejected calls to regulate the industry following a request from the Legal Services Board.
The Law Society later said the decision was ‘deeply disappointing’ and had ‘let down’ consumers.
The two organisations have since announced plans to create the Wills and Inheritance Scheme to establish a set of industry standards in place of formal regulation.
Our poll found that 56% of mortgage advisers offer will-writing as part of their service to clients.
Of the brokers who said they do not offer such services, 25% said they had previously offered will-writing and around half were open to entering the sector.
