FCA policy boss Lynda Blackwell is set to hit the road to Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle with Mortgage Solutions' Mortgage and Protection Event.

Following a robust Q&A session over opaque lending criteria with brokers last year, the mortgages and mutuals sector manager at the Financial Conduct Authority is back to take questions at each venue again.

This will follow a presentation on issues which remain a concern to the regulator and areas where lenders could tighten up or loosen their interpretation of the rules.

Blackwell is also set to review the ways in which the Mortgage Market Review has changed lender practice and will focus on how the regulator thinks advisers need to change their behaviour to be more compliant.

The half-day conference sessions brought to you by the publishers of Mortgage Solutions offer other essential intelligence for the mortgage advice market, including a protection session with a behavioural economics session on influence in sales with input from Mortgage Advice Bureau’s sales director Gareth Herbert and Neil Beard, senior key account manager (protection) at Aviva.

Further sessions include a panel to examine opportunities in the over 50s market with speakers including Simon Chalk, technical manager, equity release, Age Partnership and Matthew Wyles, senior adviser at Castle Trust.
