Lisa Martin to quit Sesame Bankhall Group
Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) has confirmed its director of mortgages Lisa Martin, appointed to the role just under three weeks ago, will leave the group.

This follows Sesame’s managing director of mortgages’ John Cupis’ move to join Openwork as its mortgage director earlier this month after eight years in the role.

SBG managing director, Stephen Gazard, said: “After 20 years with the business, Lisa has decided to leave the group later this year. As part of the wider management team, Lisa has been instrumental in building the enviable reputation that the PMS Mortgage Club has forged over many years. On behalf of the SBG executive team, I would like to express our gratitude for her unstinting contribution to the group and we wish her all the very best for the future.

“We are very fortunate to have an experienced and talented team who are renowned for the valuable and professional service delivered to mortgage advisers. The team have built PMS into the market-leading business it is today and this is something we will continue to take forward.”

Earlier in September, following a strategic review SBG confirmed a series of personnel exits including Jon Dear, Pan Andreas and Jim Newman who retired in June.

Martin, (pictured) with 27 years’ experience in the mortgage arm of the business, was readying to take on an expanded role as director of mortgages.

A strategic review, supported by Friends Life, which completed in March this year confirmed the mortgage club PMS and its Appointed Representative (AR) network will continue to operate, where in contrast the wealth AR network proposition was culled.

Jim Kelly was confirmed in a new expanded role as the group’s commercial director, which will combine his previous finance director duties with responsibilities for legal and customer relations, supporting Stephen Gazard and Martin in growing the mortgage business.

Head of member and customer support, Stuart Davies has taken on a wider remit as director of network operations.

Head of commercial development, Steve Cox, who has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and currently works in SBG’s mortgage business, takes on a new group wide role supporting Kelly.

Gazard will take on a wider remit in the new structure with responsibility for leading SBG’s support for advisers across wealth and mortgages and targeting new opportunities in the at-retirement market.
