Q: Is everyone too busy to give brokers the right level of service?
It's really important to me that a BDM is responsive to my queries and can help me out within 24-hours of a question. Is everyone simply too busy - or can you suggest a way to help me get this kind of service from a BDM?

A: I agree that it’s vital that your BDM is visible to you and can be contacted when you need their help. Business Development Managers should add real value to your business and should be able to offer help with your queries.

Initially I would recommend that you discuss with your BDM how they can best offer you the support you need to meet the needs of your clients. This allows you to agree what’s important to you and helps your BDM know how they can add value to your business.

Importantly, this also includes resolving your issues within an agreed timescale.

At Abbey for Intermediaries we are introducing a commitment that your BDM will return your call within a maximum of four business hours.

This gives you confidence that you have someone who can take ownership of your query.

We have one of the largest BDM and TBDM teams in the market who are committed to offering intermediaries the support they need to enable Abbey for Intermediaries to become the intermediary lender of choice.
