TMB
The Mortgage Business (TMB) has appointed Paul Sawford as business development manager for the North, North West, and east London areas, as well as parts of Essex.
Sawford joins from the Lexicon Group, where he held a number of roles both in surveying and mortgages, and boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience of the industry. He will be responsible for the development of the sales team and ensuring TMB delivers excellent service.
Link Lending
Matt Smith has been hired by bridging lender Link Lending in the newly created role of underwriting manager.
Reporting to the firm’s risk director, Andy Coles, he will be responsible for managing his team of underwriters and assessing the firm’s risk at the time of loan origination.
Joining from Money Partners, where he was loans manager, Smith has 13 years’ experience in the mortgage industry, having also worked for Igroup.
A&L
Alliance & Leicester (A&L) has promoted Viviane Clement to the new role of head of intermediary sales.
The appointment follows a review of the senior management structure in the intermediary sales and service division.
Clement takes up the role with immediate effect, and will report to the lender’s director of mortgages, Raj Uppal. She is responsible for the intermediary sales division, including both field based and telephony teams.
Clement has spent her entire career at A&L, having held a number of roles including regional sales manager for London, the south east and east Anglia.
Platform
Platform, the intermediary lender of Britannia BS, has boosted its newly created proposition department, with the appointments of a head of proposition and director of sales and proposition.
Mark Gordon has been promoted to the role head of proposition from his previous position as head of product development. Gordon will oversee a team of eight with responsibility for delivering a fully integrated product design and customer service proposition.
Lee Gladwell has been recruited as director of sales and proposition, starting on 21 July. With over 25 years’ experience in the mortgage, insurance, pensions and investments industries, Gladwell’s career has seen him hold senior sales and marketing posts within numerous market leading financial services companies. n
