At the awards lunch held at Legal & General’s head office in the city, the awards recognise the firms and advisers with a proven commitment to the retention of protection business.
The winners demonstrated the highest level of performance against a set of key criteria, said L&G.
The overall winner in each category is:
• Best Business Practice – Mortgage Advice Bureau
• Best Special Recognition – Personal Touch Financial Services
• Most Improved Performance – Thameside Associates
• Best Reinstatement Performance- Top Quote Ltd
John Pollock, group board director, Legal & General’s Risk Business, said: “I am proud to host the first awards event that recognises and rewards retention and sales quality best practice.”
He added: “These proven services are helping advisers save time and money but most importantly ensure customers remain protected with the cover they need. In 2010, we paid out £7.3m in claims where our notification alerts identified lapsed or cancelled direct debits. We lead the market in retention expertise and I hope that this event will, over time, achieve industry recognition on a much wider scale and will be an annual event in the Awards calendar.”
At the MAB conference yesterday, CEO of the Mortgage Advice Bureau, Peter Brodnicki said greater focus on protection sales is needed.
