Photos of HM Revenue & Customs' (HMRC's) 'most wanted' tax evaders have been posted online to prompt the public to report them.

Images of the 20 most wanted UK tax fugitives were published online for the first time today. Click the link above to view the gallery, which also contains shots of convicted evaders.

Information about the people – thought to have been responsible for £765m of tax evasion and fraud – is also listed on HMRC’s flickr channel, the BBC reported.

Most are thought to be living outside the UK. They include people who have been found guilty in the absence for crimes such as fraud, money laundering and smuggling.

Anyone who has information on the people photographed has been asked to contact Crimestoppers.

“The government is absolutely committed to tackling tax evasion and fraud,” said Exchequer Secretary David Gauke.

“These criminals have collectively cost the taxpayer over £765m and HMRC will pursue them relentlessly.

“We hope that publishing their pictures in this way will enable members of the public to contribute to the effort to catch them.”
