Bank of Ireland (BOI) UK has joined Openwork’s network to expand its distribution of mortgage products through intermediaries.

The partnership is part of BOI UK’s re-entry into the broker market following a pilot in December which involved selling its mortgage range through three estate agencies. The lender has planned a staged roll out throughout the year to widen its distribution as part of the bank’s growth plans.

Alison Pallett, director of sales, Bank of Ireland UK, said: “This is an exciting time for us and a big step forward in our growth agenda. We’ve expanded our sales and underwriting teams, and opened a new processing centre, to support our expansion and to ensure we continue to deliver excellent service.

“We’re also developing a new mortgage platform that will launch later this year.”

Paul Shearman, proposition director for Openwork, said: “Our partnership with Bank of Ireland comes as part of our desire to work with the very best of the UK’s lenders. With such a strong history of lending in the intermediary market, I am delighted to be introducing Bank of Ireland products to our advisers and know they will be well received across the network”.
