Higginson (pictured), who was previously chief operating officer of the Intrinsic and Openwork networks will work with the team who will design and deliver short- and long-term changes across the business.
Lloyd Cochrane, RBS director of mortgages and protection, said: “We are delighted to have George joining the team. His wealth of knowledge of the broker market in particular will be invaluable in helping us achieve our ambitious plans to make home buying and ownership one of the signature experiences that RBS/NatWest is recognised for as being the market leader”.
Ian McLaughlin, MD of Specialist Banking at RBS, said Higginson had been brought in to help RBS and NatWest achieve their goal of becoming the go-to lender for home finance and advice.
Higginson’s job title has not yet been confirmed.
