Skipton BS appoints Lewis national account lead
Skipton Building Society has hired Lucy Lewis, formerly of Legal & General Mortgage Club, as its national account lead.

Lewis started her career as a marketing office at Countrywide in 2001, a role she held for over three years before taking on the role of sales development manager for nearly three years.

After taking a break to become a mother, she worked at the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) for around five years, initially as an office administrator and then as senior policy adviser.

Lewis then went to Legal & General Mortgage Club as the start of last year as a lender account executive where she managed lender relationships.

Lewis takes over the national accounts role from Rachael Hunnisett, who left the mutual earlier this year to take on a role of green mortgage campaign lead at the Green Finance Institute.

‘Making things easier for brokers’

Paul Fenn, Skipton Building Society’s head of business development, said: “I’m delighted Lucy has agreed to join us here at Skipton. Lucy’s experience of distribution and the broker markets will be vital in helping us to achieve our objectives of making things easier for brokers.

“Her detailed knowledge of what’s important to both brokers and lenders is so important in a more complex and challenging market.”

Lewis added: “I’m delighted to be joining Skipton Building Society and to be able to play a part in their growth journey. I am a firm believer in the value of advice and the great service provided by mortgage intermediaries and I’m looking forward to working closely with firms to bring the Skipton proposition to life and to make a difference to the lives of their customers.”

She continued: “Buying a home is one of life’s milestones whether that’s getting your foot on the property ladder for the first time, buying more space to meet the needs of a growing family or downsizing as you no longer need so much space.

“Not only is it one of the biggest financial commitments that people make in their lifetimes but it’s an emotional decision with people buying with their hearts as well as their heads. It’s incredibly important to people and a privilege to be able to play a small part in that.”
