MorganAsh appoints Timpson to chairman role
Johnny Timpson OBE has been appointed as chairman of MorganAsh, subject to approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

MorganAsh’s new chairman has spent more than 40 years working in the insurance and protection sectors. He holds a number of positions across the industry, including Financial Inclusion Commissioner and as a member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Financial Services Consumer Panel.

He is a founding member of the Financial Resilience Taskforce, as well as a member of GAIN, the Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity, and the Prime Minister’s Champion Group for Dementia Communities, among others.

Timpson was awarded an OBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours list for services to people with disabilities and the financial sector.

He succeeds Jim Randal, who has chaired MorganAsh since its inception in 2004 and is stepping down.

The firm highlighted the growing importance of managing consumer vulnerability for firms across all regulated sectors.

Timpson praised MorganAsh for its track record of introducing innovations which combine technology and professional empathy, describing its MorganAsh Resilience System as a “major leap forward in supporting regulated firms”.

Andrew Gething, managing director at MorganAsh, added: “Johnny is widely recognised as an industry leader on consumer vulnerability – and we are delighted he is joining us. We have ambitious growth plans across both the financial and utility sectors – to provide easy-to-use, secure systems and services which enable firms to understand and help those consumers with vulnerabilities.

Last year, MorganAsh made a host of revisions to its vulnerability platform, and warned that signposting can fail vulnerable clients.
