Banks to meet over PPI claims costs
If the banks want this meeting I suspect it will be more about profit than consumer interests.
If the banks did what they are supposed to be doing then there would be no need or space for claims management companies. I have a client who did have PPI sold on a bank loan and did follow the advice available on the internet. Her bank told her there was no case to answer and therefore no compensation.
She then engaged a claims company and eventually received over £6,000. She was happy to pay the 25% + VAT to the claims company for the service and compensation which the bank said she was not entitled to.
I am sure this will not be an isolated case.
