David Cameron forced to defend Help to Buy

Actually quite like the scheme, although we haven’t had any enquiries as yet, I can see where it works.

We have historically however had clients in where they are earning good six figure salaries plus between them, but due to paying high rent have not been able to save a large deposit meaning they have been unable to buy.

It’s a bit frustrating however that the scheme only seems to be available via certain IFAs that the builders nominate.

Third of interest-only borrower shortfalls could top £50,000 – FCA

This approach is most welcome. With Lenders forging stronger links with intermediaries of late, we hope this improved relationship will not be soured by lenders proactively encouraging customers to make a complaint to the introducing intermediary who organised their interest-only loan, a practice that has been evidential in the ASU/MPPI area.

‘Shock horror reporting’ and interest-only claims avoidance

Absolutely! People who have interest-only mortgages took them as a cheap option to get their feet on the property ladder or a more expensive property at an affordable price with the intention to either convert to repayment or sell at a later date.

The disingenuous, media hype trying to fuel a fake ‘mis-selling’ frenzy needs to be stopped in its tracks. The people wheeled out by the media spouting the ‘poor me’ dropped lower lip is scandalous.

David Cameron forced to defend Help to Buy

For an allegedly intelligent man he can too often appear to be a bit daft. If people could afford the house they wouldn’t need your scheme. It is precisely because they can’t afford it that you have (unwisely) stepped in with this profligate plan.
