This week our Star Letter accolade is awarded to Victor Jannels for his response to the post: Brokers back £1,000 ‘fine’ for collapsing a property sale.
He said: “I agree that there needs to be a better system than at present. It is too easy to walk away with little regard for others in the property transaction.
“There would need to be ‘mitigating circumstances’ allowing for known factors including those already covered. Other potential issues might include serious illness, redundancy, geographical job shifts and countless others which need to be provable, acceptable and specified in order to avoid unnecessary and spurious claims.
“There is already a good system north of the border. Can we learn from that?”
