Thinc founders launch What Partnership
Thinc founders Neil Harkin and Gregg Taylor have launched What Partnership, offering advisers access to alternative investment products including overseas properties.

What Partnership follows on from Harkin and Taylor’s launch of general insurance distributor What Insure at the beginning of 2011 and is aimed at advisers looking to expand their product offering for customers.

The B2B service offers IFAs and mortgage brokers access to a range of alternative investment products, such as overseas properties, alongside sales process, training and development and marketing support.

Advisers will work under their own brand and can either sell the products themselves or choose to refer customers on to What Partnership.

Taylor said: “Like many of our colleagues in the industry we have recognised that change is upon us and have been working to build a compelling proposition that provides alternative investments within a professional framework.

“Whilst we fully embrace the recommendations of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and its principles of transparency and professionalism, we recognise that advisers may wish to seek out additional revenue streams and business opportunities.

“Consequently, this suite of products is designed to complement client portfolios and present a new alternative for IFAs and mortgage advisers looking to expand their client offer.”

He added: “We only work with sector leading providers that we have used ourselves and are happy to present to advisers’ clients. This transparency with providers enables advisers and clients to do their own research on the product sectors and the providers. We believe that this is the right approach when presenting alternative and non-correlated products.”
