The annual Mortgage Achilles survey by independent market research consultancy BDRC showed that the TrigoldCrystal Prospector system is used by three times more brokers than its nearest rival, Mortgage Brain.
BDRC said that it was the sixth year in a row that TrigoldCrystal had maintained its dominance as the most popular mortgage sourcing system.
Jon Whitmore, chief executive officer of TrigoldCrystal, said: “Our clear lead in the market makes us very aware of our responsibility to give our clients the best and we are increasing our investment in Prospector and our other sourcing products this year.”
He said that the company was planning a series of upgrades to its WebTool products and other services.
Mark Loosmore, of IT consultancy AT8, commented: “There are a number of advisers that use both systems. Mortgage Brain always denies the figures, but the figures are very difficult for it to disprove.
“Ultimately, they are the two biggest sourcing systems and both are moving their products forward, although both slower than the industry would like because they are only just getting to grips with the online world.”
