Mortgage broker’s partner admits profiting from his fraud
The partner of a mortgage broker, who pleaded guilty to 16 counts of fraud amounting to £100,000, has admitted receiving some of his illegally-obtained money.

Andreana Humble has pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to knowingly profiting from Nigel Alexander McClements’ crimes, reported the Cumbrian News & Star.

McClements, awaiting sentencing in prison, has already pleaded guilty to allegedly supplying fraudulent mortgage applications to lenders between April and September 2010 and charging clients for services that were never carried out.

It is believed he conned his clients of up to £100,000.

The charge against Humble of acquiring criminal property specified that, in October last year while McClements was in custody, she received £6,337 despite suspecting that it was the proceeds of his fraud.

McClements was due to be sentenced in March, earlier this year, but had his sentencing delayed because the judge was “not on duty”.

Humble and McClements will both be sentenced on 2 August.
