British Friendly has been added to Sesame’s approved list of protection providers.

Mark Myers, chief executive for British Friendly, said: “The relationship with Sesame represents an exciting opportunity because it is more important than ever that advisers are able to recommend own occupation cover for their clients as much as possible, which is sometimes only available through IFAs who recommend friendly societies.”

British Friendly, the specialist income protection provider, launched its first intermediary product BFS Protect in March last year.

It has seen 3,350 intermediary applications and has also maintained its paid claims ratio of 98%.

Rory Gravatt, group senior research manager at Sesame Bankhall, said the network was pleased to be widening its offering with BFS protect.
