The firm plans to take on an additional 100 surveyors throughout 2014, as well as providing staff with professional development training. It has increased its surveying capacity by 30% over the past 12 months.
Managing director Ross Bowen said: “The timing of this expansion could not have been better given the housing market upturn.”
Concerns about the lack of surveyors reached a new high this summer, with valuation waiting times stretching to almost three weeks in some cases.
In August, Countrywide began a surveyor recruitment drive targeted at brokers and other residential property professionals, as well as experienced graduates.
