The Bank of Ireland Mortgages has appointed Kevin Purvey as acting head of sales.

Purvey will fill the shoes of Roland McCormack, who, in turn, is acting as managing director until the end of January 2002.

Purvey has been with the Bank of Ireland for 11 years. He joined as a sales executive in the East Midlands, and has spent the last two years as one of Bank of Ireland Mortgages national account managers.

Before joining the Bank of Ireland, Purvey held the position of life inspector with Legal & General and has also been a mortgage broker.

To date he plans to return to his previous post on the return of McCormack from his stint as managing director.

Birmingham Midshires Solutions

Specialist intermediary lender Birmingham Midshires Solutions has announced the promotion of Peter Charge to the position of sales manager.

This newly-created position involves taking responsibility for the 11-strong team of business development managers.

The team has the task of building up new business from mortgage intermediaries, and is focused on the range of specialist mortgages launched last month.

Charge has worked in the intermediary market since 1986 and was previously southern regional manager at Birmingham Midshires Solutions.
