Research conducted by the firm found that the mutual was the favourite amongst intermediaries over the past year with brokers 22% percentage points more likely to recommend Nationwide than at the start of the year.
The lender also showed improvement in the competitive mainstream pricing, efficient up-front service and supports intermediaries categories across the 12 month spell.
NatWest was highlighted as the second most popular lender by the survey, which quizzed a random sample of 300 intermediaries each quarter.
Writing in a blog for Mortgage Solutions Tony Wornell, director at BDRC Continental, said brokers had also highlighted Accord Mortgages as a ‘one to watch’ for the coming months.
“We would pick out Accord. Previously a low profile lender, Accord really turned on the marketing gas towards the end of the year. Although this has not yet added support for the brand, the prospects look good.”
