AMI elects John Cupis deputy chairman
The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries has appointed Sesame chief John Cupis as its new deputy chairman.

The trade body has elected Sesame Bankhall Group’s managing director Cupis to work alongside chairman Patrick Bunton, who was elected in November.

Cupis and Bunton will work with president of AMI Lord Deben and chief executive Robert Sinclair.

John Cupis said that he was delighted to be joining the trade body: “In taking up this position, I am determined to continue to work on behalf of the wider industry and all our members to ensure that politicians and regulators are alive to the real issues facing consumers and our profession.

“I am looking forward to working with the board and executive team in the pursuit of a better market that enables intermediary firms to continue to deliver great outcomes for consumers.”

Patrick Bunton added: “With the challenges facing our industry in delivering a more sustainable housing market, and ensuring that the regulatory changes deliver the expected better consumer outcomes, brokers need a strong trade body.

“I am therefore delighted that John Cupis has accepted the role of deputy, to assist myself and the team in ensuring our voice is heard, listened to and acted upon.

“From his position in Sesame Bankhall Group he is able to understand the issues facing our largest firms and those of the one man broker.

“I look forward to working even more closely with John in the coming years to deliver even better outcomes for intermediaries and the industry as a whole.”
