Access FS set to open 10th academy scheme this month
Mortgage and protection broker Access Financial Services, will open its 10th academy at the end of the month. It is open for 15 people.

The academy will start on 28 November and run online to widen access for people across the UK.

The scheme runs for a year and gives attendees to the opportunity to become a self-employed broker and grow their business to become part of the firm’s network.

Each scheme is tailored to the attendee, dependent on experience and whether they want to become a mortgage adviser, mortgage and protection adviser, pure protection adviser or are an experienced adviser in need of an induction.

The broker said that the academy aimed to bring new mortgage and protection advisers into the industry regardless of experience, and to support more experienced brokers who may want to become self-employed.

Attendees learn in detail about products and services offered by different lenders and protection firms, how to understand different client needs and find the right products.

New advisers will receive in-depth product knowledge and compliance and sales training, whilst experienced brokers will benefits from advanced sales techniques, mentoring and improved upselling skills.

Graduates are also given oversight, mentoring and additional support.

‘Access model supports advisers at all stages’

Since being launched five years ago the firm has grown to over 160 brokers, with several of them being academy alumni.

Karl Wilkinson (pictured), CEO of Access FS, said: “This academy is part of our mission to grow by bringing more people into the industry. We want to develop skilled brokers by providing the best training and learning resources available.

“We take pride in helping people advance their career, become self-employed, and achieve the independence that many seek.”

He added: “The Access FS model builds in support for advisers at all stages. We strive to create a collaborative working environment where brokers are not only supported through the training and guidance we provide them with, but they also provide help and co-operation to each other.

“We think this makes us quite unique in the industry, which much of the feedback from our brokers is a testament to.”
