Husband and wife launch financial advice firm
Mortgage adviser Scott Taylor-Barr (pictured) has launched a financial advice firm with his wife Jeanette (pictured).

Taylor-Barr has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage sector and most recently worked at Carl Summers Financial Advice as a self-employed financial adviser for almost 14 years.

He also has experience on the lender side of the sector, having worked at Norwich and Peterborough Building Society for over eight years in account management and business management roles.

Taylor-Barr also serves on the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) board.

The newly-launched firm Barnsdale Financial Management is part of the Openwork network after gaining approval on 30 May. Its advice remit will include residential and buy-to-let mortgages, as well as personal protection with a focus on barristers and other legal professionals.

Jeanette will continue to do the bookkeeping side of the business and will also be the co-principal of Barnsdale. She also designed the company website.

Scott said Jeanette was “excited to learn more” about the mortgage and insurance side of the business so she can help in other areas.

Scott Taylor-Barr, principal adviser at Barnsdale Financial Management, said: “I’ve been self-employed as an adviser, under the Carl Summers brand, which is also an Openwork firm, since 2009. Setting up my own practice felt like the next natural step to take.”
