MS poll: 50% of readers agree with the Chancellor’s cuts
The latest Mortgage Solutions poll has revealed that 50% of readers agree with Chancellor George Osborne’s Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), arguing that the cuts are painful, but necessary.

The poll revealed that 27% of respondents disagreed with the CSR, saying that the cuts are a big mistake and will cause the economy to stall. A further 20% felt it was too early to comment and 3% had no idea.

David Sheppard, managing director of Perception Finance, said: “The cuts are totally necessary to get the country back on track, and from the back of the government’s decisions I feel that the economy will benefit greatly.

“Although my company is not directly affected by the cuts, some of our customers will be looking to change their existing arrangements, so I will be on hand to help them during this difficult time in the property market.”

He added: “I have a positive outlook for the future and believe that in the next 3-6 months we will see gradual improvement in the state of the economy. Hopefully that will be reflected in the market and help strengthen it by the end of next year.”

This week’s Mortgage Solution’s poll asks whether the proposed cap on Housing Benefits is a fair deal?
