A steering committee, initiated by Personal Touch Insurance and attended by many leading UK insurance companies, has formed a voluntary organisation, The British Association of Protection Providers (BAPP).

The association, comprising insurers and distributors operating within the ABI Code Life Insurance market, will introduce minimum standards of fitness and qualifications on any agents conducting protection business.
