Salans

Law firm Salans, which specialises in lender arrears and repossession, has announced the expansion of its mortgage repossessions team in Bromley with the appointment of Pritti Amin as a solicitor. Amin has more than 10 years’ legal experience, eight years of which were involved with the lending industry through shortfall and mortgage repossessions.

At Salans, she will be responsible for day-to-day management support and business development.

Prior to joining Salans, she worked at Matthew Arnold & Baldwin solicitors where she managed a team of paralegals and administrative staff, specialising in mortgage repossession and mortgage shortfalls.

Before that she worked for the repossessions lawyers, Moore Blatch, based in Southampton.

FSA

The FSA has appointed two senior advisers, Graeme Hardie and Ian Marshall, to advise across their specialist areas – retail markets and wholesale insurance respectively.

Hardie joins the regulator on a part-time basis. Most recently he was executive director at Abbey National from 2005-2007.

Prior to that he spent 27 years at RBS Group before moving on to become managing director at Natwest Retail Banking.

He will take on the role of providing advice to the FSA on UK retail banking issues from Naguib Kheraj, who steps down from his advisory role at the end of September, following his appointment to a full-time role at JP Morgan Cazenove.

Marshall, a chartered accountant, spent 20 years working in retail banking and general insurance.

From 1999-2001 he was chief operating officer for the Financial Ombudsman Service, before moving to hold the same role at Markel International PLC. Since 2004, he has held a number of non-executive roles.

Chelsea Building Society

Andrew Parsons has replaced Peter Walsh as finance director at Chelsea Building Society.

Walsh announced earlier this year he would be retiring at the end of 2008 after 29 years’ service.

Parsons, who was previously finance director at Standard Life Bank, has taken up his new position at Chelsea’s Head Office in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. n
