Baker joins Capital Private Finance from Charcol
Ian Baker has been appointed sales director of Capital Private Finance, the joint venture between Countrywide and Mortgage Advice Bureau.

Baker joins from John Charcol, where he was sales manager, after sales manager roles at Andrews Estate Agents and Spicerhaart.

Baker will report directly to the joint venture board, and will be tasked to build the new team of dedicated high calibre advisers to provide specialist financial advice for high net worth clients.

Capital is due to launch in August and will cater for the clients of Countrywide’s premium estate agency brands such as Hamptons International, John D Wood & Co., Faron Sutaria and UK Sotheby’s International Realty.

Peter Brodnicki, chief executive, Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: “We are delighted that Ian Baker will be joining Capital Private Finance. Ian brings with him a wealth of experience in the southern residential property sector and his expertise, paired with his management style, passion and enthusiasm for the role makes him an excellent fit for the business.”

Nigel Stockton, financial services director at Countrywide said: “We said that we would be looking to attract the best private finance consultants in the industry to be a part of this exciting venture and we’re really pleased to have Ian onboard. It’s great to see how much talent there is in the market at the moment and with his experience and positive attitude, I’m sure Ian is going to do really well in this role.”
