New equity release lender to launch in H2
Retirement advice firm Age Partnership is set to launch an equity release lending arm later this year.

The firm is waiting for lending permissions but expects to launch a lifetime mortgage product in the second half of 2013. The product will be offered on a national basis.

Age Partnership’s technical adviser – equity release, Simon Chalk, (pictured) said: “Backed by its plans to reach 200 staff, of which 70 are advisers by June, Age aims to be the most important at retirement adviser in the market.”

The firm is also set to offer wills and power of attorney services after recruiting a solicitor across from Irwin Mitchell.

Well-known media commentator Simon Chalk joined the telephone-based sales firm as technical adviser in January this year.

The firm currently offers equity release, mortgage, annuity and loan advice and its head office is based in Leeds.
