Some brokers using Santander for Intermediaries’ online systems have been left unable to access their accounts following MMR-related changes.

The lender launched its new MMR-compliant introducer internet yesterday morning but brokers have been unable to log into the system when using certain internet browsers.

However, the bank assured brokers the technical issues were having no impact on lending decisions.

Santander said it was ‘working hard’ to rectify the ongoing problems.

A Santander for Intermediaries spokesperson said: “We are currently experiencing an intermittent technical issue with some internet browsers when accessing the introducer internet login screen.

“However, intermediaries can continue to review their submitted FMAs via the Mortgage Application Tracking System – and this has no impact on decisions, which are continuing to be processed.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Providing great service to our intermediary partners and their clients is important to Santander for Intermediaries. We are working hard to resolve the issue and will provide further updates to brokers.”

The system changes were to bring Santander’s systems in line with the new Mortgage Market Review rules and include an improved way of capturing their client’s income details and financial commitments plus the removal of its fast track service.

Santander’s introducer internet had been unavailable to brokers from close of business on 4 April until 7:00am on 7 April 2014 to assist the changes.
