The mutual picked up the award ‘Best Service From a Mortgage’ at the Moneyfacts Awards in London yesterday.
Anita Arch, senior business development manager for the mutual, collected the award from comedian and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli at the Tower of London ceremony.
Arch said: “This is a fantastic moment for Saffron Building Society, as so many people have worked so hard to ensure we deliver the highest quality service to both borrowers and brokers who recognise the value of our proposition.
“And we don’t intend to rest on our laurels. We are continuing to invest in staff, training, systems and new processes which will enable us to remain at the forefront of service delivery. I would like to say a huge ‘thank you and well done’ to everyone at Saffron who has made this possible.”
The mutual said its manual underwriting and decision not to use credit scoring systems had contributed to the award.
