Head of intermediary and direct mortgage sales at Mansfield BS Andy Alvarez is on gardening leave.

Alvarez was at the society for just over nine months. His career started in underwriting at Advantage Homeloans and moved to Highstreet Homeloans within two years to become a business development manager.

He joined Nationwide ‘s branch manager trainee scheme and stayed with the society 12 years rising to become its head of diversity and inclusion before moving to the Mansfield.

Alvarez said: “Although it has only been a short stay at the society, it has been a very pleasurable one. They are a good organisation with nice people. However, an opportunity has presented itself which is too good to miss.”

“The new role allows me to utilise the depth and breadth of skills and experiences I have gained in the past 22 years of working in financial services at a senior leadership level, at the same time as supporting some bigger inclusion and diversity topics within the sector.”

Alvarez is staying within intermediary distribution in a senior leadership role at a specialist lender.

“I am pleased to say that I will still be staying within intermediary distribution as I am passionate about everything within it and love all that we stand for there is nowhere and no-one I would rather work with. In the meantime, I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone at Mansfield BS the best of luck for the future.”
