First-time buyer specialist Generation Home has become the latest member of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA).

Generation Home was launched in 2019 and is focused on providing affordable solutions for first-time buyers with a range of 95 and 90 per cent loan to value products.

The proposition has an income booster product which allows someone else, like a family member, to go on the mortgage to allow someone to borrow more. They can help with monthly payments and build their own equity stake.

The deposit booster allows a friend or family member to provide a deposit loan, equity loan or gift to help borrowers build their deposit and access a mortgage.

Generation Home’s commercial director Peter Dockar, who joined the firm earlier this year, will represent Generation Home at IMLA meetings and will be the main point of contact.

IMLA represents the views and interests of UK mortgage lenders and provides a forum for discussion between members via regular meetings of its executive meetings, which occur five times a year and full members can attend.

The association currently has 67 members, which includes 52 full members and 15 associate members.

Full members are lenders involved in the intermediary mortgage market, while associate membership is for firms that work closely with lenders.

Welcome to Generation Home

Kate Davies (pictured), executive director of IMLA, said: “It is great to be able to welcome Generation Home as the latest full member of the IMLA, and we look forward to hearing their unique perspective at our upcoming engagements.

“While they’re new to the field, they’re undertaking some very exciting work in the first-time buyer market so we’re eager to hear the insight they can share as a new player.”

Dockar said: “We’re delighted to become full IMLA members. Being a member gives us the chance to collaborate with other leaders in the sector, it’s only by working together that we can collectively deliver much-needed change to the housing market.

“We look forward to engaging with the association’s wider membership over the coming months, contributing our unique perspective on the first-time buyer space.”
