TSB and Clydesdale up mortgage rates – round-up
TSB has increased rates across select mortgages by as much as 0.4 per cent.

Its residential, product transfer and additional borrowing products have been amended. 

This includes its five-year fixed remortgages with a £995 fee up to 80 per cent loan to value (LTV). These have increased by up to 0.3 per cent. Rates now vary between 4.64 per cent up to 60 per cent LTV and 4.74 per cent for a mortgage at 75 to 80 per cent LTV. 

TSB’s two and five-year fixed residential product transfer rates have risen by up to 0.4 per cent, up to 90 per cent LTV, while 10-year fixed alternatives are up to 0.4 per cent higher. 

Across its additional borrowing range, TSB has increased two, five and 10-year fixes by up to 0.4 per cent. 

 

Rate cuts 

Some reductions have been made, which include the lender’s five-year fixed purchase and remortgage products for buy-to-let borrowers. These have been cut by 0.3 per cent and now begin at 4.79 per cent for a two-year fix with a £1,995 fee at 60 per cent LTV or 4.39 per cent for the five-year fixed alternative. 

TSB has also lowered rates on 10-year fixed residential remortgages by 0.2 per cent, which now have a flat rate of 4.44 per cent up to 75 per cent LTV. 

Changes take effect from 10 May. 

 

Clydesdale Bank 

Clydesdale Bank has put up rates on select mortgage products for new customers and product transfer. 

For example, select fixed rates between 65 and 90 per cent LTV have increased by up to 0.31 per cent, as have select exclusive products at 65 to 75 per cent LTV for loans sizes between £1m and £2m. 

Select products at 65 to 85 per cent LTV for loan sizes of £1m or more will also see rate rises of 0.31 per cent. 

The lender has increased the rates of professional and newly qualified professional mortgages at 85 to 90 per cent LTV by 0.1 per cent, while buy-to-let products at 60 to 75 per cent LTV will rise by 0.2 per cent. 

The same rate changes apply to product transfer alternatives.
