Dudley BS appoints Turvey as chief risk officer
Dudley Building Society has hired Andrew Turvey (pictured) as chief risk officer (CRO), subject to regulatory approval.

In his role, he will develop mortgage lending policy to ensure the mutual can react to market changes and can offer more lending solutions to brokers and their customers.

Turvey joins from the Bank of England, where he worked part-time for around two years as chair of reporting transformation committee and data standards committee member.

Before that, he worked at Belmont Green, which owns Vida Homeloans, for over four years. He initially worked as compliance director and then as prudential risk director.

Dudley: ‘A high volume of applications’

Robert Oliver, distribution director for Dudley Building Society, said: “In recent months, we have seen a high volume of mortgage applications come through to the society.

“This progress is a testament to both the products and service that we offer and the growth in the intermediary support team. I’m excited to be working with Andrew as we continue to seek to expand our mortgage proposition.”

Turvey added: “I am delighted to be joining Dudley at an exciting time for the society. I understand the specialist mortgage lending business, having recently worked for Vida Homeloans.

“My main role as CRO will be to keep the society safe by making sure we identify and manage risk appropriately. It’s a very collaborative role working closely with senior management. We have an ambitious strategic plan and it’s a fantastic opportunity to work here and be part of that.”
