Mortgage Advice Bureau new homes director Andy Frankish said the return of regional developers in the coming months will give brokers more opportunities to make local contacts in the new-build sector.
The emergence of schemes like Help to Buy 1 has allowed brokers to build up more knowledge about the specialism, he added: “It is just developing those skills, focusing on the service aspects of what you do, and building relationships.”
Buildstore chief executive Raymond Connor said Britain will see a “substantial” expansion in plots available for self-build homes in the coming of years.
“There are a couple of super-sites coming in next year,” he added.
