Sub-prime lenders Platform Home Loans and Future Mortgages have jointly sponsored a page of advertising in Mortgage Solutions, the proceeds of which will go to Sense, the National Deafblind and Rubella Association.

Guy Batchelor, sales and marketing director at Platform, and Michael Bolton, marketing manager at Future, fought head-to-head in the bid for the space, which started at £100.

They finally agreed to split the page, paying £900 each to the charity, which raises support and awareness for those afflicted by both deafness and blindness and their families.

Cheques from the two lenders were presented to James Burstow, events fundraiser of Sense by Mortgage Solutions editor Catherine Tennant and City Financial Communications’ director, Nick Rapley.

Nick will also run the London marathon this year for the fifth time in aid of the charity.
