Cheltenham & Gloucester

Tony Brown has been appointed regional manager for the North East, North West and Scotland at Cheltenham & Gloucester (C&G), taking responsibility for all C&G branches in these areas.

Brown began his career with C&G in April 1990 as assistant branch manager at its Sawbridge branch. Before his promotion Brown was mortgage development manager for England and Wales, with responsibility for managing a team of business development representatives working at various locations throughout the UK.

Discussing his new role Brown said: ‘The housing market right across the North is very buoyant and demand for mortgages has never been higher. It’s an exciting time to be coming into this part of the country and I am looking forwards to taking up the reins in my new region and getting to know my team.’

Bank of Ireland Group

Bank of Ireland Group has announced the establishment of a new board to oversee its recently formed UK Financial Services (UKFS) Division, which includes Bristol & West and its associated companies and the Group’s banking operations in Britain and Northern Ireland.

The members of this new board will also be members of the Board of Bristol & West plc and fulfil its statutory governance requirements.

New board chairman, Maurice Keane, said: ‘UK Financial Services (UKFS), under the governance of the new board, brings together all of the Groups significant activities in the sterling area, which, combined, represent a business of scale in the UK financial services marketplace.’

Mortgage 2000

Mortgage 2000 (M2000) has announced the appointment of Alan Collinson, as head of its m-2 Mortgage Club.

Collinson has worked for various financial companies, including Mortgage Express, Bradford & Bingley and the National & Provincial Building Society. He joins M2000 from IFonline-Trigold where he spent the last two years as national account manager.

Sean Hornsby, sales and marketing director of M2000, said: ‘This is a key appointment for both the Mortgage 2000 group and the m-2 Mortgage Club. The m-2 Mortgage Club is growing rapidly and Alan brings a wealth of experience with him, which will only help to assist in the sustainable and excellent growth of the club over the next few years.’

The Exchange

Ian Noble has been appointed as portal operations manager at The Exchange. The appointment is part of a restructuring of the operations team at The Exchange to meet the requirements of intermediaries and providers in light of recently regulatory changes.

Noble will have responsibility for all ExWeb activities, taking a single view of operations across all product areas. He has 22 years’ experience in financial services, and comes from life office Lincoln, where he was IFA account manager for London.

Sue Summers, general manager at The Exchange, said: ‘Market developments are creating exciting opportunities for our trading partners and we have quickly positioned The Exchange to help intermediaries and providers realise the benefits available to them as a result of e-commerce.’
